Basement work is the most technically demanding domestic project there is: underpinning, waterproofing, party wall engineering and, in most London boroughs, a basement-specific planning policy with structural method statements.
- Feasibility with realistic cost banding
- Planning application with basement impact assessment
- Structural and waterproofing design coordination
- Party wall strategy and construction oversight
Do all basements need planning permission? +
In practice yes in most of London: boroughs have adopted basement policies requiring applications with impact assessments, even where PD might otherwise apply.
Will it affect my neighbours' foundations? +
It must not, and demonstrating that is the engineering. Party wall awards, movement monitoring and agreed method statements are standard parts of our basement projects.
